Hangyojin (半魚人, Fish Men) are one of two races living in Wadatsumirie alongside the Merfolk. The Hangyojin are the majority of the population and are primarily male as they make up a vast part of the Wadatsumirie Navy as well.
Appearance
Appearance-wise, they are more "fish-like" than their Merfolk counterparts, looking like a cross between a man and a fish of the ocean; however, they still have legs. They also have a greater distinction as they posess gills between their shoulders and necks, sometimes covered by their clothing. Many of the Hangyojin have webbed hands and feet allowing for faster swimming. Depending on species of fish they are based on, they may have multiple limbs or even dwarf others in size.
Powers and Abilities
Enhanced Strength: The Hangyojin are physically ten times stronger that that of a normal human being, even from birth. This difference in power is magnified underwater, where a human's power is cut in half, while Hangyojin are not only are completely unhindered, but are even strengthened. As a whole, in the midst of battle, the Hangyojin race can be considered unstoppable in their natural habitat - the sea. As well as being powerful they can still talk under water and cannot drown. However, breathing air into their gills makes them suffer like a normal fish would. While they can use their gills to breathe in water, they have to switch back to their lungs to breathe in air.
Water Manipulation
Water Manipulation: Those of the Hangyojin race are free to manipulate water as they see fit. They are capable of sending shockwaves through water droplets in the air, often devastating large group of opponents. The Wadatsumirie Navy makes a practical use of this skill, as it is their primary mathod of dealing with an enemy. The Hangyojin can take the manipulation of the water a step further and even harden the moisture in order to form solid weapons to fight against weapon weilding opponents. When using this skill, they are even able to grab moisture from the air and begin weilding it like a whip or can smash it down upon an enemy, breaking down the "full weight of the sea".
